The flavors of Taiwan at the 2019 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition

The 2019 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition was held at the Taipei World Trade Center last July 26-29. I was able to attend the event through the invitation of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau together with a select group. There were also other media covering the event from different countries.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Vice President of Taiwan, Chen Chien-jen.

The grand fair was a gourmet cuisine carnival which showcased interactive experiences and displays of local products to bring out the essence of Taiwan’s food and culture.

This year, international masters from the fields of fondant, fruit and vegetable carving, and more were invited to give live performances at the Culinary Exploration area of the Amazing Feat Hall.

All exhibitors from the government departments gave their best efforts to showcase their products to make the attendees experience Taiwan cuisine.

Going around the culinary exhibition and tasting some of the food samples in various booths will give you a good idea of what Taiwan cuisine is all about; from ice cream to shaved ice; pastries to wine, and a whole lot more.

This annual grand festival were filled with food that I enjoyed sampling and ended up buying some local items and there were even special offers and vouchers from restaurants and hotels.
