A sweet escape to Lima Park Hotel in Batangas

When I think of places to visit, I would always imagine myself sunbathing in Maldives or enjoying a gondola ride in Venice again. But then, I also realize that there are still so many gems in our country that I have yet to discover; places like Batangas where Lima Park Hotel in Malvar is located.

Lima Park Hotel Batangas

When my family booked a 3D/2N stay at Lima Park Hotel, we were just hoping for a quick respite from the busy urban lifestyle. The idea was to find a place that’s near Manila which would only require a short distance of relaxed driving. Lima Park Hotel fit the bill perfectly.

Honestly, when we arrived, we weren’t really expecting a whole lot from Lima Park Hotel or its neighboring establishments since we rarely visit this side of Batangas. But we had an absolute blast during our entire stay. The hotel, staff, the food, and the experience, happily exceeded every expectation we had coming in.

Lima Park Hotel is a joy to come home to.

The pool’s size is perfect for families who want to wade away the hours with their kids. You can also opt to just lie back on one of their daybeds by the poolside if that’s your thing.

We actually almost had the pool all to ourselves during that afternoon. We spent some considerable time taking in the fresh air while basking in the sun, working on our tan.

Restaurant

Plum is Lima Park Hotel’s newly renovated restaurant. It can comfortably accommodate 80 persons and spectacularly serves Filipino flavors with Asian concept dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

During mornings, the well manicured garden and the view of the pool offers the perfect backdrop to your breakfast and hot coffee.

For lunch or dinner, choose from a delicious selection of appetizers, salads, soups, noodles, house specials, all the way down to desserts.

Asian Street Food Platter (Php360.00)

Plum Restaurant dish

An assortment of chicken satay, fried quail eggs, lobster ball, mushroom meatballs, squid balls, and pork cracklings.

Miso Glazed Salmon (Php670.00)

The salmon fillet was beautifully pan-seared glazed with Japanese miso and gochujang for that savory, sweet, and spicy flavors.

Beef Rendang (Php580.00)

This house specialty is every bit awesome! The fork tender beef and oxtail is simmered in thick, creamy, and velvety smooth coconut milk, giving it a beautifully appetizing aroma.

Crispy Pork Belly (Php390.00)

If you know me, then you also know how much I love pork. I can eat this as is or with rice.

This delicious pork belly is oven roasted, making the meat really soft while giving its skin a delicate crisp. It’s wonderfully seasoned and can stand actually on its own. But it comes with sauces that go really well with the pork – tamarind dry seasoning, hoisin sauce and spiced vinegar.

To showcase some local Batangas specialties, here’s what Chef Chris and his team prepared.

Bulalo Soup

Crispy Tawilis

Sinaing na Tulingan

Ensalada Filipina

This Ensalada Filipina was made even more special with the addition of “paho” (Popouan in Pampango or Pangi in Visayan) which Chef Chris personally bought. It’s very unique and gives off a very distinct taste. Its tarty and sour flavor goes well when mixed with other veggies. It’s been ages since I last had one of these so, it got me excited to eat it again.

Latik Fondue: Suman Magkayakap, Turon and Broas

It’s our first time to eat Latik Fondue. Chef Chris really does know how to innovate! A great meal ender.

And, oh! Lima Park Hotel made our stay even more memorable by decorating our room with a sweet anniversary surprise while we were away having dinner. It was so thoughtful of them, considering that our wedding anniversary had long passed already.
