Savory and sweet summer specialties at RACKS

Summer is one season that I look forward to because I get to spend more time with my family.

We either do hotel staycations or enjoy out of town trips. But I also look forward to preparing their favorite dishes.

When I’m not in the mood to whip up something to eat in the kitchen, we usually go out and dine at our favorite restaurants. One of these places is RACKS.

RACKS has been a regular dining destination of our family. Their fall-off-the-bone Baby Back Ribs never disappoints. Their Onion Bricks is still my go-to appetizer. Even their House Blend Iced Tea (they use hand squeezed calamansi, by the way) is a sure winner.

Every now and then, I love to try out new dishes when they are offered. It’s a great way to find new flavorful discoveries. That’s why I was happy to learn that, just recently, RACKS is currently showcasing new offerings which, of course, I was very excited to try. That’s why I didn’t waste any time heading to their Greenhills branch the other day with my family.

They are featuring Butterfly Spring Chicken that’s cooked three different ways: Hickory Smoked Spring Chicken, Grilled Lemon Garlic Spring Chicken, or Fried Chimichurri Spring Chicken. You can partner your choice of chicken with Curry Rice or Fried French Green Beans.

Since we want to try everything without over ordering, we opted to go for their Blue Plate with 2 sides.

Grilled Lemon Garlic Spring Chicken

The chicken was beautifully charred, moist on the inside, and seasoned just right. It goes perfectly well with the Curry Rice.

Fried Chimichurri Spring Chicken

The fried variant was another winner! The skin was deliciously crispy and the meat was beautifully cooked; tender and moist. The fried green beans was a home run winner!

I couldn’t stop munching on these fried greens; most definitely a must order!

Hickory Smoked Spring Chicken

The chicken was seasoned beautifully and the smokey flavor gives it its own distinct character. This, in my opinion, is the chicken version of their signature Baby Back Ribs; fall off the bone and incredibly FLAVORFUL! This is another variant that goes very well with the Curry Rice.

To wash down all these tasty new offerings, we tried their new summer thirst quenching Mocktails.

Very Strawberry (Php175.00)

Classic Mojito (Php175.00)

Another flavor is Mellow Watermelon (Php175.00).

And what meal would be complete without dessert, right? So, we capped off our filling meal with the Ultimate Banana Split.

The bananas are fried and dusted with cinnamon with five featured ice cream flavors: Strawberry, Kesong Puti, Pastillas, Avocado and Vanilla. Considering that this dessert is portioned “for sharing”, its price of Php295.00 is absolutely affordable.

These new offerings will definitely spice up your summer.
