The first time I tried Shake Shack’s ‘Shroom Burger was when we visited Hong Kong last year. I immediately fell in love with it.
But that joy was quickly replaced by sadness as I realized that there’s no Shake Shack in Manila in case I miss having a ‘Shroom Burger. I hate having to crave for something that I can’t have when I go back to my country. You probably feel the same.
So, when I posted the ‘Shroom Burger on my Facebook account, a High School friend of mine who was working for TWG at that time, commented and said that Shake Shack will be opening in Manila soon. THAT MADE ME HAPPILY EXCITED!
Fast forward to a just a few days ago (April 29) when I attended the Shake Shack media preview which was held at their first ever store here in Manila — Central Square, BGC.
Shake Shack’s first ever store in Manila is spacious. If my estimate is correct, it can probably accommodate about 100-150 pax. The place is well lit with a big menu near the counter. The staff are nice and very courteous!
If you’ve been to any Shake Shack branch abroad before, you’ll notice that the menu is almost identical, save for a few special local exclusives. Here in the Philippines, you will be able to enjoy Shake Shack’s Manila Exclusives: Calamansi Limeade and the very rich and to-die-for Ube Shake!
For Concretes, you can enjoy the Calamansi Pie Oh My and Uuube-by Baby apart from their Shack Attack staple.
Here are a few of the delicious Shake Shack items I got to enjoy during the media preview…
I had the Shack-ago Dog.
I had a Shack Burger, too!
And of course my all-time fave… the ‘Shroom Burger!
This is actually better than the one I had in Hong Kong. The ‘Shroom Burger here was actually more flavorful and cheesier in my opinion. Really good!
Of course, I didn’t pass on the Ube Shake since this is a Manila Exclusive.
For pet lovers out there like me, you’ll be happy to know that they thought of our fur babies, too, because they even have snacks for them!
You can also purchase some Shake Shack merch.
Wondering what else to order? You can check out their menu below for your reference.
During the media preview, we were also given a Shake Shack Recipe & Stories Book. And since Mark Rosati (Shake Shack Culinary Director) was in attendance, I had my copy personally signed by him.
So, there you have it! Whether you’re a first-timer or a long time fan of this franchise, get ready for its doors to open here in Manila! Shake Shack will officially open here on May 10 at 11am!
I will definitely be back to have some more deliciously shakin’ specialties real soon. Hope to see you all there!
