AirAsia Pioneers Farm-to-Air Dining Experience!

AirAsia formally launched the Farm-to-Air experience at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Capt. Dexter Comendador with cabin crew

The airline that was awarded the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for ten straight years by Skytrax is pioneering this new concept.

With guests always in mind, the farm-to-air dining experience aims to serve healthy food using only fresh harvests and ingredients directly sourced from farmers across the country.

This initiative is also a part of AirAsia’s commitment to support Filipino farmers, social entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to give them a chance to be known and to earn.

Deliciously healthy options await during your AirAsia flight

When onboard AirAsia flights with Z2 code, to and from the Philippines, you can get to choose from an array of fresh and new items in the Santan menu including these healthy options…

This two-layered strawberry and lychee drink with coconut jelly sinkers comes in a 16oz cup. The fun part is that you get to watch the the cabin crew prepare your drink right in front of you. It’s like having your own personal bartender while cruising at 30,000 feet.

You can also try this new item – California Crab Onigiri (Php70.00)

MERCHANDISE

Soggy-No-More Pouch (Php380.00)

This pouch made from expired or old life vest is handmade by Nazanin — a social enterprise of Afghan refugees in Kuala Lumpur. The proceeds from the sale of this ingenuous will support their livelihood of these hardworking refugees. Apart from that, upcycling of products will help reduce aircraft waste.

Another highlight of the launch event was taking the group of media, bloggers and KOLs, along with Capt. Dexter Comendador, on a farm tour where AirAsia sources their ingredients.

Guests were able to see firsthand how meticulously AirAsia choose the ingredients to be used for their inflight meals. It is actually a nice opportunity for everyone to see where their food came.

I’m really happy that AirAsia pioneered this initiative. It’s a great way to offer better, healthier options, while helping to support our beloved farmers.

Expect to enjoy flavorful offerings that are deliciously fresh, organic and healthy every time you paint the skies red with AirAsia. This is truly an exceptional dining experience.
