Since school is back for my youngest, I wanted to come up with a no-frills snack that she can enjoy whenever she comes home. Something that’s easy and fast to prepare, but healthy and filling as well.
While I was at the mall a few weeks ago, I saw a classic snack that I used to eat — and love! I’m quite sure most moms and kids are familiar with this delicious treat – Corn Kernels with Cheese.
Corn is high in vitamin C, vitamin B12, folic acid, iron and a good source of fiber. Perfect for a growing child.
Allow me to share with you this easy peasy recipe that I am sure you moms (and kids) will be able to make it yourselves. Here’s how.
Easy Cheese Kernels recipe using Jolly Whole Corn Kernels
Ingredients:
- 1 can Jolly Whole Corn Kernels
- 1 large bottle of Cheez Whiz
- Fresh Milk
- Salt (optional)
Procedure:
Open the Jolly Whole Corn Kernels can and drain. Set aside.
In a saucepan, empty 1 large bottle of Cheez Whiz and mix ½ cup of fresh milk. Heat in low fire and stir it continuously so the mixture won’t stick at the bottom of the pan. Wait until sauce thickens a bit. Add fresh milk depending on the desired consistency.
Season with salt if you like.
Assembly:
Scoop a generous amount of corn kernels into a glass or mini bowl and drizzle some cheese sauce over it.
Serve while warm.
If this preparation isn’t easy enough for you, then, I don’t know what is! Haha! Even my son loves it! Try it out and let me know what you think.
Happy cooking and eating!
