When choosing a hotel for a weekend staycation, I always have 3 considerations: location, amenities and restaurants.
I always opt for a location that is not too far away from my place since I don’t want my time to be eaten up by traffic and having to spend so much for petrol. But since I live in Mandaluyong where every place is nearby (Mandaluyong is widely considered the central hub of Metro Manila because of its strategic location), going from one place to another within the metro is not really that much of a concern. So when I got a staycation invitation for #TheDreys from Winford Hotel and Casino in Manila and saw the exact location, I quickly confirmed.
Winford Hotel and Casino has been in business for a year already and they just had their grand launch last April of this year.
This 8 billion peso hotel casino located at San Lazaro Tourism & Business Park in Sta. Cruz is 22 storeys high with 128 well-appointed rooms and suites, restaurants, pool, fitness center, spa, salon, ballroom, meeting rooms, entertainment bar and a casino.
An exciting and fun-filled stay at Winford Hotel and Casino
The moment I first stepped foot inside Winford Hotel and Casino, the welcoming staff, as well as the spacious and elegant lobby impressed me immediately. Even my teens were thrilled and excited to see what Winford Hotel and Casino had to offer.
During our 3 days and 2 nights stay, we were given a Deluxe Room for our teens and an Executive Suite for me and my husband. These two rooms were connected for better accessibility.
The rooms were spacious with subtle Asian-inspired touches and sleek decors.

Deluxe Room
Winford Hotel and Casino’s Deluxe Room has a king bed, 40” flat screen TV, safety deposit box, telephone, bathrobe, slippers, minibar, fridge, work desk, iron board and a hair dryer. And even if the area is just 29sqm., it doesn’t feel cramped at all.
Executive Suite
The Executive Suite on the other hand, has a living room and a powder room. This is great especially when you have guests coming in to visit you. It allows the actual bedroom to have much needed privacy.
The room has two (2) 55” flat screen TVs – one in the bedroom and the other one in the living room.
The size of the work desk is perfect for me and my husband who usually catches up on work and deadlines from time to time.
The bedroom is very cozy and the bed is dreamy!
The bathroom has “his and hers” sinks and the shower stall is situated beside the tub in an enclosed glass door.
Facilities and Amenities
As for Winford Hotel and Casino’s facilities, my son, my husband and I took advantage of their fitness center. We did not pass up on the opportunity to sweat and burn all the delicious food that was served to us during our entire stay.
In the evening, I booked a slot at the spa for me and my daughter. It’s one of our favorite bonding moments and we both enjoyed the relaxing 1-hour treatment.
If you love swimming and you happen to have kids in tow, you’d be glad to know that Winford Hotel and Casino has an adult and kids pool. Too bad it was raining during our weekend staycation. I sure would have loved to take a dip. Well, that’s one good reason for us to come back!
For night caps over good music and a glass of wine, the Hippodrome Bar & Lounge is open 24 hours featuring some of the best bands of today to get you moving.
But if you prefer to play a round of poker, blackjack or maybe try your luck at the slot machine, or a few rounds participating in Philippines sports betting, Winford Hotel & Casino’s world-class gaming and entertainment facilities are always at the ready.

The casino is operated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) under the terms of the license issued to Manila Jockey Club in 2009.
The complex also contains facilities for meetings and events targeted to the affluent Filipino Chinese community in the area of Central Manila.
For events, they have an elegant ballroom that can accommodate a minimum of 200 pax up to 600.
Great food selections at Winford Hotel and Casino
Winford Hotel and Casino has great food spots for hungry tummies! Copa de Manila, Choi Garden and Hawker Center are wonderful establishments offering a variety of flavorful and sumptuous dishes. Watch out for my next post on this.
