Karnitas Korner is a new hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Bo. Kapitolyo, Pasig that opened just last March 2015. Tucked in the residential area along Philam Road, its location makes this concept restaurant quaint and less crowded.
The usual suspects are those who swing by for lunch and during after-work hours. While during the weekends, you’ll see families and coteries who share the same passion… Eating!
You can opt to eat inside…
Or al fresco.
Karnitas Korner was originally planned to be a go-to place serving just sandwiches. But, you know how we Pinoys are… we’re huge rice eaters!
Karnitas Korner, just as its name says, serves small pieces of meat, referring to their specialty porchetta that’s been cut into small pieces and added into a variety of their dishes. To give it a Filipino touch, they played around with the correctly spelled word of “carnitas” (which sounds very Mexican) and changed the letter ‘c’ to ‘k’, hence – “karnitas”.
Delicious and very affordable dishes at Karnitas Korner
You can choose from their list of affordable specialties, sandwiches and gourmet dishes which include porchetta all day – everyday. At Karnitas Korner, you can even order porchetta on the same day! Isn’t that happiness?
Look at this delicious baby! Fatty, meaty with a nice crispy and irresistible skin! I can eat this over and over again even if it kills me! Hahaha! Good food shouldn’t go to waste, right?
Do you find it unbelievable that Karnitas Korner serves porchetta in most of their dishes? Check out some of their delicious dishes which I was able to sample.
Porchetta Nachos (Php135.00)
This appetizer is good for sharing. It is packed with Tex-Mex cheese sauce, mango salsa for that refreshing taste, sliced jalapeños for some heat and porchetta bits! Nice to munch on while waiting for your main meal.
Porchetta Tacos (Php185.00)
Herb-roasted corn slaw in sweet and sour sauce, porchetta and crispy pork rinds for that nice crunch. It comes with chipotle sour cream for just the right kick. A nice blend of Fil-Mex flavors that your palate will surely enjoy.
And my favorite of all is this very appealing Porchetta Sandwich (Php185.00)!
Oven roasted pork loin drizzled with Karnitas Korner’s very own salsa verde topped with crispy pork rinds in ciabatta bread. Crazy good! The porchetta was seasoned with herbs and spices to make it more delicious. Also, the salsa verde gave it a nice solid flavor overall! This savory pièce de résistance is one of Karnitas Korner’s tastiest dishes! I will come back for this and let my kids try it!
Another crowd favorite is the Porchetta Rice (Php185.00).
Steamed rice, coleslaw, spicy sweet soy relish, runny egg and a generous amount of pork loin with some crispy rinds in one huge bowl. Just mix everything together to get all the flavors in every bite. If you want some spice, add some Sambal Matah. This spicy condiment goes really well with the savory and fatty roast pork! Be prepared to eat more rice though! A must-try when you visit Karnitas Korner.
For some thirst quenching drinks, choose from any of Karnitas Korner’s summer coolers! I personally like the Dalandan juice.
They also offer vegetarian dishes by the way. Just check their menu.
