The heat is on! And if the heat is too much to bear, head on over to a BONO Artisanal Gelato branch nearest you because there’s no better way to beat that sweat than to drown yourself with gelato and more gelato!
Summer’s a breeze with BONO Artisanal Gelato
And speaking of summer, BONO Artisanal Gelato just released their newest flavors to counter the punishing heat of the sun. Perfect timing, too, because the kids are now on vacation. So, let the little ones try out their new summer flavor – Kooky Monster! I am certain that kids will enjoy this delicious concoction!
Made of cotton candy with mallows and crumbled cookies, the Kookie Monster is the perfect flavor for your little rascals!
While the kids are having fun with their amusingly blue colored gelato, the “young once” can enjoy a delightful cup of Affogato.
During our visit to BONO Artisanal Gelato’s SM Aura branch, Chef Zara Manikan who also happens to be BONO’s R&D/Production Manager, demonstrated how to make gelato on site using liquid nitrogen.
This was the well-loved and talked about Vanilla Bean Gelato with a shot of Espresso that was served to us. Drinking coffee has never been this incredibly enjoyable! If only I could have coffee this way every single day.
We were also able to try BONO Artisanal Gelato’s freshly churned Bourbon Butterscotch.
Toffee + Toasted Pecans + Bourbon + Butterscotch Sauce that immediately reminded me of Werther’s Original Hard Candy which I absolutely adore! It was undoubtedly love at first bite!
So, what makes gelato different from ice cream! Well, for one, gelato is low in fat containing only 4 to 8% while ice cream has way more. Gelato uses more whole milk than cream and it is slow-churned for less air and more flavor. Gelato is dairy-free and low-sugar, too. So, is it better than ice cream? You bet, it is!
Did you know that BONO Artisanal Gelato is representing the Philippines as one of the Top 16 Asia Pacific finalists vying for the “World’s Best Gelato” title at the Gelato World Tour on March 20-22, 2015 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore?
Chef Zarah will showcase 2 famous flavors that are very Filipino – Mango and Ube (purple yam jam) and will be called the Mango Ube Symphony.
Smooth mango gelato with swirls of purple yam jam and accented with rhum-soaked dried mango strips. Colorful, playful, sweet, tangy and every single delicious nuance you could think of, all in one flavor.
BONO Artisanal Gelato’s Mango Ube Symphony bested 40 entries from 50 countries to qualify as one of the TOP 16 Asia Pacific finalists. The top three winners of the competition will go on to Italy to compete against winning flavors from around the world at the Grand Finale of the Gelato World Tour in September 2017 to earn the coveted title of World’s Best Gelato.
