Oktoberfest is one of the most awaited annual celebrations around the globe. Anyone who joins the festivities is pretty much guaranteed one swinging, rockin’ and rollin’ hell of a good time, whether you get drunk or not.
Traditionally, Oktoberfest is celebrated in Munich, Bavaria, Germany lasting for 16 days with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. It is such a fun and rowdy event that even other cities all over the world have started holding their very own Oktoberfest celebrations.
That being said… October is just ‘round the corner once again and Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila has some amazing news! They are proud to announce that here in our country, they will be the home of Oktoberfest for the next four years!
Join the Oktoberfest celebration at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila!
This year’s 76th Oktoberfest will happen on October 17 to October 18, 2014 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s Harbor Garden Tent. The tent will be converted into a Biergärten (beer garden) complete with Oktoberfest tables and benches. Not only that, the ladies will be dressed in dirndl and gentlemen in their Lederhosen.
To kick-off this year’s launch, the head honchos of the German Club of Manila and Sofitel Philippine Plaza gathered on stage to offer Ein Prosit!
Of course, the ladies were not to be taken lightly as they took on the challenge head-on also and that includes Irene (in white shirt beside me) and me!
The festivity promises an authentic German beer festival vibe by way of a traditional folk dance of Bavarian Schuhplattler, unique sounds of the gigantic Alps Horn and Goaßlschnalzer or whipsnappers cracking their whips in tune to Bavarian music. Even the world famous original Hofbräuhaus Band and Show from the legendary Hofbräuhaus in Munich will be there.
Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Master Chefs will prepare an amazing Bavarian spread.
Of course, there will be free-flowing ice cold San Miguel beer to complete the festival.
I am sure everyone will either be too drunk or too happily tired to go home or drive… which actually means that you really made the most of Oktoberfest. So, why not take advantage of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s Oktoberfest rooms package to give you that worry-free, good night’s sleep after your crazy merry-making.
Oh wait… there’s much more! A raffle draw with over a million worth of prizes will be drawn!
Tickets start at Php3,300.00 (non members rate) and Php3,200.00 (members rate) with a discounted rate of Php3,250.00 for groups of 20-40 people.
Proceeds will go to the German Club’s welfare/charity projects. In case you didn’t know, German Club Manila has long been helping the poor and underprivileged, as well as supported victims of natural calamities. Oktoberfest has also helped promote camaraderie among the Filipinos and Germans.
