For me, the perfect staycation doesn’t have to be a place far from home or away from the metro. Just as long as your escape to a place within the metro is one that is hassle-free and consumes minimal petrol.
You might ask, “Is that even possible to find within a traffic-laden place like Metro Manila?” Well, the simple answer to that is, YES. And the perfect staycation spot can be found just right smack in the heart of Bonifacio Global City – F1 Hotel Manila!
BGC is where all the hottest and hippest happenings are nowadays! The hotel can actually be seen from the Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. fly-over (Buendia Ave for all the old-school readers… hehe) and just a few meters away from the fly-over’s foot.
Allow me to tour you around F1 Hotel Manila.
On the 5th floor is the modern, simple yet gorgeous lobby.
On the same floor is the Premiere Lounge where we, together with fellow foodie bloggers were welcomed by F1 Hotel Manila’s Director of Operations, Mr. Tony Co while we were served coffee and delicious pastries! A great way to start your day!
F1 Hotel Manila has 243 stylish guest rooms: Superior, Deluxe, City Suite, Executive Suite, Premier Suite and our beautiful room – Fort Suite!
Staying in a room like this makes you feel very much at home because it is like a full-serviced condo. It is spacious and has a separate cozy bedroom. The living area has a sofa bed which is very convenient if you have company (or for your kids). The place also has a dining table that’s perfect for your room service! I took a quick nap and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this sofa bed is actually very comfortable to sleep on.
Each room is equipped with coffee and tea making facility and a mini bar.
There are 2 of these LCD TVs – one in the receiving area and another in the bedroom.
Work desk with internet ports, NDD/IDD telephones and by your bed side there’s iPod Dock with Radio & Alarm.
Electronic Safe and Iron & Ironing Board
Personally, the iron and ironing board is a must! No need to call the Housekeeping Department should you need to have your clothes pressed. Unless of course you don’t know how to iron.
Walk-in shower with complete toiletries.
Gone are the days when hotels use cardboard door signages. – then kids roaming around the hallways would normally get ’em!
Meanwhile, the 3rd floor is the most loved area of every kid staying at F1. It has the hotel’s 3 swimming pools – wading pool, regular pool and towards the end part is the lap pool.
You can see the drizzling rain outside (Yup, it was raining during our stay.)
And this is the view of the pool by night.
Enjoy a glass of wine or a bottle of beer. If you opt to drink a non alcoholic beverage, order your favorite soda or chilled juice. Either way, the Canary Lounge is a relaxing place to hang out.
Another service that I was looking forward to during our staycation was the Signature Massage of their Spa. Unfortunately, because of my uncooperative monthly period, I cancelled my booking with my masseuese and will just have to try it some other time. Sigh! Anyways, I still took pictures for you guys to see how their Spa looks like.
The Spa and Gym are located on the 3M Floor. You turn right as soon as you alight the lift.
This is the entrance to the Spa. While the Gym is on the left side right after the Exit sign.
Don’t you just want to lie down and have your whole body massaged? Seriously, this calls for a visit soon!
One advise though, if you plan to avail of the Spa service, book ahead of time as it gets full right away especially during the weekends. As you can see, they only have one room that can accommodate two persons. I am sure you don’t want to share the same room with a total stranger (especially a person of the opposite gender). But, there’s always an In-Room Massage service if you really need to have one and if you are short on time.
Think you’ve seen enough? Wait… There’s more! I really saved the best for last!
F1 Hotel Manila’s “F” Restaurant featured their Christmas Menu during our stay, so we were able to see and taste how delicious these holiday offerings were. These delicious dishes were prepared by no less than the prolific chef himself, Sau del Rosario who hails from Pampanga where we all know is the “Culinary Capital Of The Philippines”! Need I say more?
The Christmas vibe is on at the “F” Restaurant! Not because of any Christmas trimming or jingles playing. But because of this Christmas-tree inspired Croquembouche!
Croquembouche is a French dessert composed of profiteroles or cream puff piled into a cone like this one. Instead of filling it with the usual cream or chocolate, F1’s version has either pastillas, pandan, ube and strawberry injected into each puff for that Pinoy touch then dusted with powdered sugar. We were given a sampler of this to try and I devoured it in no time!
To welcome us for lunch, this beautiful whole roasted organic lechon was sitting prettily at the carvery station!
Lechon is usually the star of every Noche Buena feast in most Filipino households. This organic Lechon was very sinful but very delicious! I actually had 2 servings of this and it didn’t really matter how many calories I had!
But even before I started “pigging-out” on the pig, I already had my eyes on this as well…
This Chili Crab was a little on the sweet side with a noticeable hint of spiciness – but flavorful. I’ve finally satisfied my curious palate! It should be noted, though, that this is not how it’s really served. I asked one of the chefs manning the buffet counter to help me plate my chili crab.
They also have fresh Tuna and Salmon!
Notice the shot glass? If I am not mistaken this is Kilawan with ginger, cilantro and just the right amount of vinegar. These were my appetizers and I had 3 servings of them!
I also tried their Molo Soup and it reminded me of what my mother-in-law used to cook.
My perfect partner during the rainy lunch.
And for a sweet ending, this Chocolate fountain and Red Velvet Fruit Cake were an absolute hit!
These were actually the real culprits of why my tummy was bulging the entire day! It was worth all the calories, anyway! ☺️
For breakfast, they have a wide selection of delicious fare for you to choose from.
Load up on carbs! They have cereals and an assortment of bread that you can slice and toast on your own using this cute conveyor toaster.
Craving for cheese?
These are perfect with your toasted bread and some jam!
The husband had:
Vigan Longganisa and Scrambled Eggssssss.
While I had my breakfast staples:
Corn flakes, Assorted Cheese, Toasted Bread with Strawberry Jam, Butter and a cup of hot coffee!
See, you don’t need to splurge on accommodation or airfare to have a a wonderful time. F1 Hotel Manila is just a stone’s throw away from St. Luke’s Hospital and S&R. Check-out their website and book your next staycation there!
