Being raised by grandparents, to me, meant learning household chores the traditional way — and part of those chores was cooking, of course. My first cooking experience was back when I was 10 years old when my grandmother would normally ask me to help her out in the kitchen. I didn’t immediately fall in love with this activity back then since I found it to be a chore more than a leisurely hobby.
Fast forward to today, I can say that I am fortunate to have been under my grandmother’s tutelage since she was a superb cook. All my know-how in the kitchen (except for baking which that I am not really fond of), I learned from her. Up until now, I still enjoy whipping up culinary magic in my own kitchen.
Being a homemaker who is passionate about cooking, I am always on the look-out for opportunities to hone my cooking skills. I would watch cooking shows, read cookbooks, ask tips from my chef friends and among other things. I also visit kitchen stores to discover new things that can help make cooking easier.
In line with my desire to improve my culinary skills, I recently attended the De’Longhi Cooking Workshop at the Concept Specialist Inc. Showroom in QC.
During my showroom visit, I was able to see some of De’Longhi’s collections which I drooled over! Not only does De’Longhi make top-of-the-line coffee makers, they also have a full line of functional home kitchen items.

The De’Longhi Multifry is an innovative cooking appliance combining a low-oil fryer and a multicooker. One can prepare a variety of recipes that range from cooking to baking. It is most definitely a must have in every kitchen.
During the workshop, Chef Mitchie Sison featured two (2) recipes: South Western Potato Hash and Raspberry Almond Muffins. Both of which I was able to participate in. I was surprised to see how easy it was to cook using the De’Longhi Multifry! Oh, gastronomic bliss!
For the South Western Potato Hash, drop the ingredients in the pan, programme the cooking time, switch on the multifry, check the cooking progress through the see-through cover, remove and plate the finished product!
From a savory dish, let us now make some muffins to complete the cooking experience with the De’Longhi Multifry. In all honesty, I was hesitant on the baking part since, as mentioned earlier, it is not my forte. But to my pleasant surprise, I actually found Chef Mitchie’s Raspberry Almond Muffins so easy to make.
Before you start baking, remove the paddle from the De’Longhi Multifry, pour water inside enough to submerge the ramekins halfway, cover the lid and let it boil. Let’s start…
Mix the dry ingredients, then milk and add in the the jam & almonds. Pour some of the batter into the ramekins and almond slivers. Place the ramekins inside and close the lid. Wait.
These muffins taste as good as it looks! You can drizzle some chocolate syrup also.
Who would’ve thought that these 2 recipes can easily be created using one single machine? Wonderful, right? You can check here for more recipes.
Wait! There’s more! We even tried making Gelato and Affogato, which you can also happily create at home with your kids using the De’Longhi Il Gelataio.
After mixing all the ingredients and waiting a mere 25 minutes, our gelato was ready to be enjoyed!
There are endless recipe possibilities using the De’Longhi Multifry. It’ll definitely make cooking more enjoyable because everything becomes easier and faster!
