For big eaters and those fond of an “all-you-can-eat” type of dining, make sure to reserve a seat at Diamond Hotel Philippines’ Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant.
Yurakuen, dubbed as the most authentic Japanese Restaurant in Manila, not only serves you the freshest and top quality ingredients but gives you a charmed ambiance, too.
Since Japanese culture revolves around nature, a scenic view of a rock garden behind the glass cherry-blossom tree brings the beauty of nature inside especially during daytime.
And for that authentic Teppanyaki feel, Teppanyaki tables are available. They have private function rooms as well should you need more privacy.
Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant offers Teppanyaki All-You-Can-Eat until you can no longer fill your eager bellies. Here’s our chef for the evening, Chef Bebong, who delighted our tummies with his delicious dishes and entertained us with his cooking tricks.
Spectacular dishes at Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant
Let’s start off with this bowl of greens. Choose from Garden, Chuka Wakame or Crab Stick.
Don’t forget to choose your soup. Either Miso, Egg or Seaweed.
Check out Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant’s unlimited portions of Sashimi and Sushi Platters.
Tuna, salmon, cuttlefish, grouper, mackerel, red snapper and freshwater eel.
Grouper, Crab Stick, Tuna, Flying Fish Roe, Mackerel, Salmon, Shrimp, Egg, California, Dragon and Tempura Rolls.
We then had our Mixed Rice while waiting for the main course that our chef shaped into a big heart that looked too cute to eat.
Followed by a mélange of seafood.
From scallops and prawns, to squid and cuttlefish, as well as salmon in its freshest form and crisp vegetables, Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant consistently offers top notch dishes. And since everything is served at its freshest, I suggest that you tame down on the sauce and seasoning. The flavors of their specialties are good as is. Salt and pepper will do… sometimes it’s not even needed.
I immediately gobbled up the scallops as soon as it was served to me. It was a revelation! Whether you use the ponzu sauce or not for that sweet and tart kick, the scallops were absolutely juicy, soft and sweet.
Now for the main event… Meat! Chef Bebong started with the tenderloin followed by the short ribs.
Another thing that you should not miss out on when visiting Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant (although it isn’t part of the Teppanyaki All-You-Can-Eat menu) is this beautiful and mouthwatering Wagyu!
I am usually not a fan of anything cooked “medium well” or lower, but Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant’s Wagyu A5 cooked in that doneness was actually so inviting that I just couldn’t say no! This gastronomical masterpiece is just magnificently flavorful!
The Wagyu was cooked medium well in butter with garlic slivers. It was undoubtedly juicy and had excellent flavor with a gorgeous amount of marbling. It is such a sin to keep this baby waiting too long. So, right after taking this photo, I eagerly and immediately devoured my share of the Wagyu! Wow. Happiness!
To cap off a delightful dinner, there was an assortment of seasonal fruits, ice cream and Hot Sweet Red Beans.
My husband tried the Green Tea Ice Cream with sweetened red beans.
I, on the other hand, opted for the Black Sesame. It wasn’t too sweet and had a delightful texture which came from the sesame.
Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant is definitely one of those places that will bring families and friends closer together while indulging on the freshest of feasts. It is most definitely the perfect restaurant to spend some of your hard-earned cash to reward yourself once in a while or perhaps impress a date.
Enjoy Yurakuen Japanese Restaurant’s Teppanyaki All-You-Can-Eat every lunch and dinner for only Php 2,800 nett per person with one unlimited standard drink of your choice — choose from sodas, chilled juice, local beer or Kirin beer. Rate is valid until October 2015.
