Restaurants offering burgers are a dime a dozen these days. Either it’s fast food, artisan or a mom and pop thing. But let’s face it! Burgers have (almost always) been the go-to kind of food of a good majority of people. Perhaps because it’s fast, easy to consume, very filling and oh so comforting.
It’s always the case here at home… when I’m hungry in the wee hours of the morning from too much blogging, I immediately pick up my phone and order a burger for delivery. When my kids want to have something that’s easy to eat that’s pretty much no-frills, I simply whip up a classic cheeseburger in the kitchen or drive to the nearest burger joint. Burger is just a huge fave and I’m just glad that there are already so many options and selections nowadays.
But, even with a ton of choices out there, we still want to have our money’s worth, right? Value for money is key. And I have found just the place where burgers are absolutely delicious and the prices are incredibly reasonable.
If you haven’t been to SM Supercenter in Pasig City lately, then, most probably you still aren’t aware of the The Great American Burger Joint or simply called, “The Burger Joint”. This fairly new establishment is located on the ground floor just beside Krispy Kreme.
Me and my foodie friends were able to sample several burgers, wings and malt shakes from The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter just a couple of weeks back.
I tell you, with every bite, their flavorful offerings seemingly transports us to the “land of milk and honey” (The US of A of course!). Why so? The owners of The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter travel a lot and they want to incorporate the flavors from the East Coast all the way to the West Coast in their very own burgers.
Here are a few good reasons why you should try The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter:
- Burgers are made daily on-site!
- ALL-BEEF BURGER PATTIES uses 1/2 sirloin and 1/2 chuck!
- No extenders!
- The burgers are cooked using the “smash” technique. It gives off that brown and crusty effect, adding a delightful texture while still keeping the juices intact!
- They make their own brioche buns daily!
- Sauces are made in-house!
Words can hardly explain how good the dishes of The Burger Joint are!
The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter has a ton of really good stuff which I was pleasantly surprised to find out are friendly on the pocket, too! Not sure what to order? Worry not. Here is a quick guide to start you off…
Burgers and more done right at The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter
Let’s start with this good ‘ol Strawberry Malt Shake (Php129.00)
Gloriously thick and rich with just the right amount of sweetness. The summer heat wave is no match for this really cool delicious creation.
Loaded Nachos (Php159.00)
This appetizer which uses watermelon salsa shows off the colorful taste of summer. Refreshing and addicting at the same time. As all nachos, eat it right away before it gets soggy!
This “Italian Style” burger will immediately remind you of the classic Italian pizza. It has lettuce, capers, marinara sauce and ooey-gooey mozzarella! If you are worried about the acidity that the sauce gives, the light brioche bread neutralizes it and compliments the entire dish.
Pulled Pork Burger (Php195.00)
I love pulled pork and chili con carne so when this burger was brought in (and after we took a couple of pictures of it) I devoured this Burger Joint specialty! The sweet BBQ sauce went well with the cheese and bacon’s saltiness while the chili con carne added a nice twist. On my next visit, I’ll ask if I can have a separate order of their chili con carne. I’ll eat it on the side together with my burger!
Vegas Burger (Php245.00)
This has got to be my favorite among all the dishes served that day at The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter! The bacon, guacamole, pepper jack and fried egg combination is simply the bomb! Not to mention, the dish is visually appetizing! If you are out on a date, this is hardly the burger I’d recommend because it gets kinda messy from the runny egg. But, if messy is your thing, then by all means!
Juicy Lucy (Php290.00)
This half pound beauty was juicy without being fatty. The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter packed this specialty with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, melted cheese in the center, with their delicious house sauce and BACON! Salty, tangy and sweet all at the same time! I just found the burger a tad difficult to bite on, but you can use a fork and knife just fine. Don’t worry! We won’t judge you! 🙂
The Burger Joint at SM Supercenter has a few wing selections as well. I personally like their BBQ Sesame (Php179.00).
Chicken wings coated with smoky sweet sauce topped with sesame seeds. The sauce permeated on the meat all the way up to the crunchy edges.
Hungry yet? Check them out and get hooked yourselves! I’m actually thinking of driving there right now with the family and start pigging out!
