For those not aware, Torch Restaurant is now open at Greenbelt 5 in Makati. This is great news especially to southerners, since this amazing restaurant is now accessible to people from that area! No need to travel too far just to satisfy your Torch cravings.
Torch Restaurant has an extensive menu of international fusion cuisine from American, Japanese, Filipino and Italian dishes which one will surely love. From breakfast fare to bar chow to cocktail drinks. Name it and Torch Restaurant has got you covered!
Recently, my KTG buddies and I were invited to try their highly-recommended dishes at the newly opened Torch Restaurant at Greenbelt 5. Wondering where the new branch is exactly located? Torch Restaurant now occupies the spot where Mr. Jones used to be.
If you’re wondering what to order, here are some of Torch Restaurant’s must try dishes which I consider my personal favorites.
Instant favorites at Torch Restaurant
While waiting for your main course, order the Wakame Salmon (Php234.95).
This pretty appetizer has seaweed, ripe mangoes, kani and raw salmon in a spicy sesame mango dressing that’s really appetizing. Good play on both sweet and briny flavors. While the spicy sesame dressing had just the right amount of heat to tickle my taste buds.
And this Cheesy Anchovies Alfredo 14″ Pizza (Php374.95).
This savory, salty and cheesy oven-baked thin crust pizza was impressive! Using Alfredo cream as the base, topped with anchovies and sliced cheddar cheese, how can you go wrong?
For some healthy eats, this Grilled Chicken Quinoa Salad (Php345.95) is a winner!
A complete meal in itself – healthy superfood Quinoa grains with grilled chicken, onions, bell peppers and feta cheese tossed in sesame dressing. The nutty flavor of the Quinoa goes well with the chicken and vegetables. I liked the entire dish even without the sesame dressing. Too much of the dressing can be a little cloying. My suggestion is to add just little of the dressing in between bites.
Seabass in Garlic Miso (Php799.95)
Infrared-baked Chilean Sea Bass basted with sake garlic butter miso and served with Japanese fried rice. You know the fish is really fresh because of its sweetness, color and texture. Torch Restaurant’s sea bass has got all that! But what really got me was the dish’s overall sweet-salty-milky-fragrant flavors.
Tocino Fingers (Php172.95)
Our classic pinoy breakfast favorite but leveled up! Battered and fried pork tocino strips with a nice crunch to it. In some way, coating the tocino lessens the sweetness. To complete the “ToSiLog” experience, it is served with egg, atchara and buttered garlic rice. Comfort food at its best!
And the star of our lunch was this Tomahawk Steak (Full – 2,000-2,200 gms: Php6,799.95 / Half 1,000-1,100 gms: Php3,499.95 / Single 300 gms: Php 1,195.95)!
It comes with twice baked-potato and roasted corn on the cob. Note though that you must give an allowance of 30-40 minutes cooking time.
This bone-in USDA Angus Ribeye Steak seasoned with Torch Restaurant’s secret dry-rub mixture was roasted to perfection! Thick, flavorful, tender, juicy, great color with a nice crust.
Deliciously pink… just the way I like it. The chef nailed the steak’s doneness! Apologies if the steak looks dry already, it took us quite a bit of time capturing that perfect angle.
The steak was also the most photographed dish over lunch!

Whether it’s lunch or dinner, a nice refreshing drink is the perfect accompaniment to any good dish.
