Living in the busy metro my whole life somehow makes me long for those peaceful holiday getaways every now and then. It just so happens that Bohol is the perfect place for any kind of pleasurable escape from urban life with only 1 hour and 10 minutes of flight travel time from NAIA Terminal 4 in Pasay City Manila to Tagbilaran Airport in Bohol.
And when in Bohol for that much needed vacation, South Palms Resort Panglao is always a destination to keep in mind because the place provides an oasis of relaxation and delightful comfort.
South Palms Resort Panglao (formerly Bohol Beach Club) is located in the south end area of Panglao with over a thousand palm trees and the longest white beach in the entire Panglao island.
The beauty of South Palms Resort Panglao
Famous for its white sand beaches and turquoise waters, Bohol has become an island attractive to tourists.
Inspired by the Balinese design with a Boholano touch using local handicrafts to preserve and retain the feel and culture of Bohol, South Palms Resort Panglao retains an elegant sense of simplicity that can be seen throughout the property.
The friendly Boholano hospitality can immediately be felt as soon as you arrive. Refreshments are served and cold towels are given to you once you alight your vehicle.
With its sprawling landscape and layout, guests of South Palms Resort Panglao never feel cramped up and are given more than ample room to roam around the place.
Even the tropical-styled villas are designed by the Boholanos themselves.
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning Unit, Flat-screen cable TV, Tea/Coffee making facility and Minibar
A simple yet functional bathroom with hot/cold shower and complete toiletries.
And when you open your curtain or go outside your room, this is what you’ll see… lush greenery, sand and sun. South Palms Resort Panglao is truly picturesque!
Even merely sipping a cup of hot tea while enjoying the view is a treat in itself.
So, what does one do aside from basking in the sun? Take lots of photos, of course!
But if the heat of the sun is too much to bear, you can take a dip in the pool that overlooks the magnificent beach.
Hungry? Oceanica Restaurant serves local and international fare. This is also where the breakfast buffet is served.
The Coast Pool Bar, on the other hand, has a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as delectable food. Coast Pool Bar also offers room service.
I highly recommend that you order the Sloppy Joe Pizza. It’s cheesy, meaty and really good! I wish South Palms Resort Panglao was just a short drive away. I’m starting to crave for this as I write!
South Palms Resort Panglao offers all sorts of relaxation. Their spa service is a must try, too!
Palm The Spa is situated by the beach. The sound of the waves crashing the shore is extremely relaxing.
So, whether you get an afternoon or evening schedule, it doesn’t matter. Just book ahead of time as they only have 4 spa cottages by the beach. Otherwise, you can have your massage right inside your room instead.
My husband and I had our massage scheduled at 9PM. It was already dark so I took this photo the next day so I can have a nice shot of it.
I tried their Hot Stone + Relaxation Massage that lasted for 90 minutes.
The flat and smooth hot stones were used to massage certain areas of my body to ease muscle stiffness. Later on, the stones were placed on my back after a full body massage. The masseuse did a great job in relieving me of my body pains!
My husband, who isn’t too fond of massages, had the Aromatherapy Massage.
