Burger joints have been sprouting everywhere like mushrooms… each establishment offering different kinds of specialties such as angus burgers, premium meat patties, veggie patties and more. Just recently, Canada’s Triple-O’s by White Spot opened in the Philippines serving burgers using 100% Canadian beef patties and their signature “secret” sauce.
Legend has it that the Triple “O” name came from the shorthand language of the carhops: guests could choose from mayonnaise and relish and the order slips were printed with three X’s and three O’s. An X meant hold, and O meant extra and Triple “O” meant plenty of everything. Check out the brief history below.
Triple-O’s claims to be “Canada’s sauciest, juiciest, tastiest, bestest burgers around” and I just had to find out for myself if that very claim is true. Since I was not able to attend the exclusive launch, I decided to bring my family with me just a few Sundays ago to experience what Triple-O’s has to offer.
We chose to visit during the establishment’s off-peak hours to give us time to peruse the menu without the pressure of having a heavy queue behind us. After much thought, here’s what we ordered.
The hubby ordered Bacon Cheddar (Php300.00) with extra patty
Combo (french fries + drink): Php390.00
100% Canadian beef patty, crispy bacon, melted cheddar with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato and Triple “O” sauce with signature dill pickle on top.
My husband liked it! It has a nice soft bun and the ratio of ingredients was perfect – you can taste all the elements in the burger.
My burger-loving son got the Monty Mushroom (Php310.00)
Combo (french fries + drink): Php400.00
100% Canadian beef, Monterey Jack Cheese, grilled mushrooms, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato and Triple “O” sauce with signature dill pickle on top.
The fresh lettuce and tomatoes pleasantly gives the burger that nice crunch while the cheese and Triple “O” sauce combined was superb!
My daughter, who loves her burger just simple, got the Original with Cheese (Php240.00)
Combo (french fries + drink): Php330.00
100% Canadian beef with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, cheese, and Triple “O” sauce with signature dill pickle on top.
Juicy Canadian beef patty with a beautiful sauce to complete it.
I, on the other hand, opted for the Original (Php200.00)
Combo (french fries + drink): Php290.00
100% Canadian beef, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato and Triple “O” sauce with signature dill pickle on top.
I wanted to taste Triple-O’s burger in its simplest, most basic form. A perfectly cooked and seasoned burger doesn’t need much to stand out. I’m glad to know that Triple-O’s patty is juicy and flavorful as is.
I was really curious to know why they place the dill pickle on top of the burger instead of inside so I asked the server what the deal was.
According to them, the pickle, when placed inside the burger, makes the bun soggy. Makes sense. So, when you are about to eat your Triple-O’s burger, you can either put it inside or just simply take a bite off of it every now and then just like what I did.
You can also put additional toppings depending on your preference. Choose from:
Processed Cheese – Php40.00
Monterey Jack Cheese – Php50.00
Cheddar Cheese – Php50.00
Bacon – Php55.00
Grilled Mushrooms – Php60.00
Try some of Triple- O’s impressive side orders to complete the experience.
Onion Rings (Php90.00)
Plump, sweet and perfectly golden crispy onion rings.
Caesar Salad (Regular: Php150.00 / With Grilled Chicken: Php250.00 / With Crunchy Chicken: Php250.00)
Romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan cheese and special Caesar Salad dressing.
Vanilla Milkshake (Small: Php150.00 / Regular: Php200.00)
I went ga-ga over Triple-O’s milkshake! It’s rich, thick and oh so heavenly! Their milkshakes are made of 90% ice cream and 10% fresh milk! They have chocolate and strawberry flavors, too.
Triple-O’s doesn’t give you the thickest patty or ooey-gooey stringy cheese. But what you get is the juiciest and tastiest Canadian beef patty with their signature craveable Triple “O” sauce that they are well-known for.
You can now enjoy Canada’s famous Triple-O’s burger without going abroad! Hooray!
