Last March 24, we had a chance to stay overnight at Pico de Loro Cove with some of our blogger friends this time. Coincidentally, my husband and I were also celebrating our wedding anniversary! What a treat!
Pico de Loro Cove is the maiden residential community of Hamilo Coast. Nestled along a 1.5-kilometer stretch of white sand and calm blue waters, the 40-hectare community is a first glimpse into the future of Hamilo Coast as the premier sustainable beach resort town of the Philippines.
It has a beach and country club, 4 residential clusters: Myna, Jacana, Carola and Miranda. They also have a beautiful 7-storey boutique hotel called, Pico Sands Hotel, where we stayed for the night.
I felt right at home immediately as the staff were very warm and courteous.
We had a spacious Premiere Lagoon View room that can accommodate a family of 4 with 2 beds. Thanks to my husband for this lovely panoramic shot!
The room alone already made me excited to stay. All the more knowing what Pico de Loro has to offer!
I love that Pico de Loro Country Club offers assorted activities for kids and adults.
Pico de Loro Cove also has amazing restaurants that serve scrumptious dishes by Chef Jaymie.
We had our filling lunch here during our arrival and also when we had late lunch before we headed back to Manila the next day.
Papa al Pomodoro
Stewed tomatoes with basil and parmesan toast.
Ox tail and tripe stewed in tomato sauce, chorizo and garbanzos.
Beef Tenderloin Salpicao
Using imported beef tenderloin sautéed with garlic, red wine served with vegetables and mashed potatoes.
Beef bone marrow cooked osso bucco style served with pasta or rice.
Sinigang sa Manga
Just the right thickness from the gabi. Not to sour from the mango and the freshness of the shrimp all in one bowl!
Pico Restaurant is open 24 hours
Leftover Bulalossa from our lunch prepared for us by Chef Jaymie. How can you say no to something this good?
Juicy. Makes for one very good afternoon snack.
Your usual Tinolang Manok but using squash giving it that thick and creamy ginger texture. It was pleasant to eat and very comforting.
Crispy Pork Slab
Crunchy, oily, salty and delicious! It doesn’t matter if it will kill my diet, I’d still eat this again and again!
Pan au Chocolat
Comes with vanilla ice cream, cream and strawberry. Pour it altogether and eat it while its warm.
If you want to explore more of Pico de Loro, you can book a cove tour or island hopping if you want to experience sun and sand the Pico de Loro way. Look at this! We were brought to Santelmo Cove in a private boat right before lunch the next day because it was the best time to enjoy the summer sun! It only took us about 20minutes to reach Santelmo Cove.
It’s a paradise in Batangas! You can just bum around the shore and just bask in the sun…
Or just simply enjoy the breeze of the wind and the sound of the waves crashing to the shore with your other half.Thank you Spanky for this picture!
When you book your cove tour, packed lunch or snacks will be provided. There are boats converted into tables which you can use. Just don’t forget to throw your trash properly! There are big trash bins located in the area!
Locals attest to seeing St. Elmo’s Fire in this area and aptly named it Santelmo Cove after the said weather phenomenon. With flawless white sand and turquoise waters, Santelmo has one of the best beaches in Hamilo Coast. One of the marine protected areas of the coast, Santelmo is also an occasional nesting ground of Olive Ridley and green sea turtles (pawikan). Giant clams (taklobos) and a diverse variety of sea creatures likewise make this cove an ideal diving and snorkeling spot.
Pico de Loro is also a beautiful place for destination weddings. Coincidentally, there was an ongoing wedding held at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Chapel when we were there.
This chapel was built for Henry Sy, Sr.’s grandson’s wedding. This all glass chapel overlooks the beautiful Pico de Loro Cove. And if you are a Catholic staying over the weekend, no worries. Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 11AM.
With everything happening in this wondeful place, Pico de Loro makes it a priority to strictly look after everyone’s safety. My husband had a minor cut on his foot and when I called the nurses’s station, we didn’t wait too long for a nurse to come knocking at our door. Good job!
One day is actually not enough to explore everything that Pico de Loro Cove has to offer. Kids and kids at heart will definitely have an amazing time.
They even have a few surprises up their sleeves! When we went back to our room during our first night, we were surprised with a chocolate cake and this!Thank you Celine and Pico Sands Hotel staff for the thoughtfulness!
Pico de Loro Cove is just a 90-minute drive from SM Mall of Asia via the Cavitex-Ternate-Nasugbu route. It’s your perfect luxurious weekend escape from the urban life without traveling so far. No need to worry about excessive toll fees and petrol consumption.
Thank you Celine (Area Marketing Communications Manager), Pico de Loro and SM Hotels for the invitation! It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend getaway!
