During the 80’s and 90’s, one of my favorite drinks was Orange Julius. Even my husband used to be really fond of it. So, whenever we do our grocery at Unimart – Greenhills, we make it a point to buy a large-sized cup of Orange Julius . Since we both miss this drink so much, I decided to make my version at home.
Last week, my husband and kids requested that I make it again. And because I’m feeling extra generous tonight, I will share my recipe with all of you, my dear readers! 😉
1 1/2 cups orange juice
Note: You may also use fresh orange.
1 cup water
3 tablespoons egg white or egg substitute
Note: You may use 2 tablespoons of egg white if you want it less frothy.
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Note: You can add a little more to enhance the flavor.
Optional: You can add 1 cup milk.
1. Combine the ingredients except the ice.
2. Blend everything for 20 to 30 seconds or until frothy.
3. Once frothy, add in the ice. Blend until it’s crushed.
4. Serve right away.
5. This can make 3 glasses.
