MasterChef Pinoy Edition is hosted by no less than the Teleserye Queen, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and joining her as chef judges are 3 world class kitchen masters – Fernando “Ferns” Aracama of Aracama, Rolando “Lau” Laudico of Bistro Filipino and JP “Jayps” Anglo of Mu Shu.
Upon our arrival at the Renaissance Convention Center in Riverbanks, Marikina last Thursday, Nov. 8, we were immediately led to the MasterChef kitchen where all the cooking (as well as the crying and the much anticipated drama) by this season’s hopefuls will take place.
Behind these doors is…
… the MasterChef pantry!
The famous MasterChef “Mystery Box” was also displayed for everyone to see.
It’s a plain wooden box, similar to a crate, with its bottom uncovered – used to hide (and reveal) one or more surprise ingredients that MasterChef contestants are supposed to use during a particular challenge. Here is an example of what the MasterChef box was hiding during the 15-minute challenge happily participated by some of our friends from the press.
Joining us during the presscon were the show’s host and chef judges.
L-R: Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Chef Aracama, Chef Laudico and Chef Anglo.
More than merely being a cooking show, MasterChef Pinoy Edition will give viewers a daily dose of morning real life drama that highlights the struggles and triumphs of amateur chefs, both in the kitchen as well as in their actual lives. Our Masterchef hopefuls have no formal culinary training whatsoever. What they bring instead, is their utmost passion for cooking, their aspirations and love for their families.
Who has the guts to impress the chef judges? Who will break under pressure? Who will have the right amount of courage, determination, creativity and know-how to be eventually hailed as the very first PINOY MASTERCHEF!
All these ingredients make for one terrific show – delicious enough for every Pinoy viewer to eat up and enjoy!
MasterChef Pinoy Edition premieres this Monday, Nov. 12 at 10:30am on ABS-CBN.
