3rd and last stop: ESTANCIA RESORT HOTEL
This is the place to head to if you want a view of the Taal Lake without going to0 far. Estancia Resort Hotel is very accessible from Makati and just an hour and a half drive away. It is also near the Tagaytay Rotunda and Picnic Grove Park.
Estancia Resort Hotel used to be an exclusive resort for members but is now open to public. They’ve already completed their Phase III renovation this year, thus, offering upgraded rooms to give you a more improved and cozy accommodation.

Since Estancia Resort Hotel is sprawling, perhaps the intention of the owner is to give it a varied feel based on its numerous (and diverse) styles. You’ll see Mediterranean architectures, Filipino or Santorini inspired villas and quite a selection of themed rooms. I personally think the diversity is tad too much… it ended up being cluttered with no real identity. It could be just me, so you’ll probably have to head over there to see if it floats your boat, so to speak.
Spacious and air-conditioned rooms are equipped with cabled TV, minibar, telephone and hot and cold running water.
Executive Suite good for 2-4 persons that overlooks the Taal Lake (Php5,200.00)
Casitas good for 2-4 persons (Php4,000.00)

This is the room where we stayed in. This area can easily accommodate 6 persons in total – Queen sized bed (on the right side) and 4 single beds (2 of which looks like hospital beds. Ewww!).
For a room spacious enough to accommodate 6 persons, this cabinet (above picture) is quite insufficient and very small!
Although clean, this bathroom is very basic and boring
Some may find the themed rooms amusing, but personally, I find the other rooms “cheesy”. Like this one:
Deluxe Room with 2 Single Beds that has a “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, lay down your hair” theme. The window-balcony style (pictured below) is from the room’s bathroom.
These were my 2 favorite dishes that evening.
Grilled Steak with Straw Mushrooms
Steak and Mushroom: my 2 favorites! Nothing beats a perfectly grilled steak! I love how I can taste the steak itself and not just it’s rubs and sauces. Tender, well seasoned, juicy and has those beautiful grill marks.
Lamb with Feta Cheese and Steamed Vegetables
Eating Lamb is an acquired taste. Strongly flavored lamb has a somewhat gamey flavor which I am not particularly fond of. I just recently learned to appreciate eating lamb… Kudos to my husband who enjoys eating grilled lamb! I loved how the chef made this Lamb dish very tender, flavorful without having the gamey taste and not overcooked. The feta cheese’s strong flavor compliments the slightly bland taste of the steamed vegetables also.
With me are Aira and Ernest after a very filling dinner!
THINGS TO DO:
Outdoor pool by night
Indoor Pool that is connected to the other bedrooms as well
Apart from corporate events, Estancia Resort Hotel also accepts birthday and wedding parties.
For services, facilities and value for money, we gave Estancia Resort Hotel “8 Pop Points”!
For our Final Verdict: MANOS GREEK TAVERNA
